The role

As the Environmental (Energy) Policy and Projects Officer, you will work with the Energy Optimisation Specialist and other stakeholders to deliver strategic initiative from the Energy Management Strategy to optimise the operations of Gippsland Water, supporting our transition into renewable energy, decreasing our carbon footprint whilst minimising our exposure to rising energy costs. They will also assist in building awareness of the financial and emissions impact of energy use.


What you’ll bring

  • An appropriate tertiary qualification and/or significant experience in renewable energy.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise and make sense of complex data.
  • A demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and with influence across an organisation.
  • Problem solving acumen with the ability to analyse and assess a range of complex issues.
  • A passion for sustainability and clean energy solutions.
  • Ability to develop, maintain and strengthen partnerships and relationships with key stakeholders.

Selection Criteria:

  • An advanced understanding of the application of renewable energy as well as market trends and influences.
  • An appreciation of the need for data management and the application to support data driven decision making.
  • Highly developed communication skills including evidence of requirements gathering to deliver information and insights for decision making.
