WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?


Within the ELC, the Maintenance & Engineering team is looking for a Project Engineer. Our impressive material handling equipment consists of a marathon distance of conveyors, 230 cranes, 10 sorters, 240 PLCs, more than 1500 barcode scanners and more than 4000 frequency and servo controls. As a Project Engineer, you are responsible for the design and implementation of material handling systems in our automated logistics environment. You successfully manage your technical projects from design to delivery to your internal customers.


WHAT DO YOU WORK ON?


  • You design a reliable and cost-efficient material handling solution as a team.
  • You can dream your project and translate all specifications into a scope of work documents.
  • You will be involved during the entire project (purchase phase, conceptual design, functional design, detailed design, construction of the installation, testing, delivery, ...) to ensure a properly functioning installation.
  • You motivate the internal and external project staff involved to achieve strong results.
  • You lead the site from start-up to ensure the desired level of performance is achieved.
  • You ensure structured communication between project stakeholders.
  • You keep an eye on safety and ergonomics, and monitor your timelines and budget.
  • You take care of documentation, knowledge assurance and work instructions.
  • You provide the necessary training to your colleagues in Maintenance & Engineering.

WHO DO YOU WORK WITH?

As a Project Engineer, you are part of the Engineering team and report to the Engineering Manager. The engineering team consists of a number of Project Engineers, an Automation Manager, Automation Engineers and a Reliability Engineer.

Depending on the project, you will be part of the Distribution Build organization. In this organization you work closely with one of the squads and also report within this squad on the progress of your project.

WHAT DO YOU BRING?

  • You have a master's degree in engineering or another relevant field and you are familiar with all aspects related to automation (mechanics, electricity, control techniques, pneumatics).
  • You have experience in independently leading and realizing technical projects in a highly automated environment (production, MHE, ...). You have an affinity with or a strong interest in material handling systems.
  • You know what is moving in the MHE market, and are able to use this knowledge to come up with simple, flexible and scalable logistics solutions.
  • You take personal responsibility for the development and start-up of your technical projects with the necessary self-confidence.
  • You are flexible in terms of time and efforts and willing to supervise the start-up of your project during test weekends.
  • You like teamwork in a dynamic environment, you have good problem-solving skills and are results oriented.
  • You have knowledge of standards and regulations concerning electrical installations (AREI, EN60204-1, etc.).
  • You often work together with cross-functional teams and you are able to lead these teams for the duration of your project.
  • You are fluent in Dutch and English.
