Job Details
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Controls Engineer to join our team responsible for designing and implementing control solutions for residential heat pumps, fan coils, residential air handling units (AHUs), and small tonnage chillers. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in HVAC controls and be able to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement control solutions for residential HVAC sys tems, including heat pumps, fan coils, AHUs, and small tonnage chillers.
- Develop control strategies and sequences of operation to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency.
- Collaborate with internal and external teams to develop control system architecture and specifications.
- Conduct site visits and provide technical support for commissioning and troubleshooting of HVAC control systems.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including specifications, drawings, and programming files.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest technology and trends in HVAC controls and recommend improvements to existing systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing and implementing HVAC control systems, preferably in a residential setting.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, including heat pumps, fan coils, AHUs, and small tonnage chillers.
- Experience with building automation systems (BAS) and control platforms, such as Tridium Niagara, Johnson Controls, or Honeywell.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
